Manali to Leh

This route tops the list. Its a rather calm route given the raging monsoons of India as Leh is a watershed region. However, be prepared to get transported to a world of fantasy when on this trip. The rugged terrain, lofty mountains, beautiful waterfalls will all take your breath away. You will be travelling and passing by some of the highest mountain passes and exotic valleys when on this route. In between the barren region, the presence of monasteries with fluttering flags is another unique aspect of this route. This route spans for about 480 km and remains open for five months only.

Visakhapatnam to Araku Valley

This road traverses for a distance of around 115 km. This region gets its monsoon rainfall between October to January so you can plan your trip here between October to March to enjoy the beauty of this region. Some interesting places to visit here are the Borra caves and the Tatipudi reservoir that falls on the way. The Bay of Bengal kissing the Eastern Ghats is a beautiful sight to behold. If you are a first-time traveller to this place, then be ready to get enthralled by the beauty of this location. The roads that lead to Araku valley are curvy, but gentle and contains a mystified beauty that everyone would enjoy.

Darjeeling to Gangtok

The distance between Darjeeling and Gangtok is close to about 100 km only, but you will be enjoying one of the best road trips with your friends with lots of beautiful memories to cherish. You will, of course, be travelling with the Kanchenjunga as your backdrop which is an added privilege. As you are going in the monsoons, expect overflowing greenery and loads of colourful flowers. Bangalore to Coorg

Another interesting experience for you will be this trip to Coorg, which is also called the Scotland of India. You will come across ginger, peppercorn and coffee plantation on both sides of the road when you travel and being the monsoons the beauty of your surroundings will take your breath away. The distance between the two places is about 250 km and hence makes it a must-visit travel destination.

Gangtok to Lake Tsomgo and Nathu-La Pass

Its a rather unexplored and one of the best road trip destination for you and your friends. The distance between the two places is about 50km to 55km long, and the Lake Tsomgo also called the Changu Lake falls on the way. This trip can be taken both in summers and monsoons. If you are visiting the place in monsoon, be prepared for seeing a blooming valley with beautiful wildflowers growing everywhere. On the contrary, in winters you can enjoy the frozen waterfalls on the way.
