On September 4, 2012, the Gujarat government, led by Mr Narendra Modi, launched the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana. In August 2014, it was extended to Mukhyamantri Amrutum Vatsalya Yojana. The scheme aims to counter the same by providing these families access to high-quality medical and surgical care for diseases requiring hospitalization, surgery, or other treatments.
