Indian roads are considered to be the deadliest. To curb the rising rate of road accidents, riders on road need to play their important roles and responsibilities. Road rules and regulations in India are designed and amended time to time as per the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. Various provisions of the act are enforced by the Motor Vehicle Department.
Every state has a Regional Transport Offices (RTO) to carry out the various activities and functions as laid out in the Motor Vehicle Act.
Traffic Fines and Challans In India
Despite of rules and regulations, accidents do happen due to traffic violations . Recently, there has been increase in fines for traffic violations.

However, it's important to note that RTO fines may differ from state to state. Mumbai traffic police fines may vary from Bangalore RTO fines. If we take the example, 'using mobile phone while driving' is an offence for which Mumbai RTO fines INR. 200, Bangalore RTO fines INR. 100 and Pune RTO fines INR. 100. RTO fines can be paid online using RTO challan (called as e-challans) online.
Conclusion
For every effort that is made by the traffic police department and RTOs, it's important to abide by the rules and regulations for the road safety and avoid paying hefty RTO fines. Follow the rules of RTO Traffic Fines and Challan in India and drive safe.
